About Tanis Harvey
Tanis Harvey is one of the assistant teachers at Mo Holland Dance Studio.
She has been dancing with Mo Holland Dance Studio since 1999, learning jazz, tap, and ballet with Mo Holland. She has been in the Level 4 dance classes since 2006. Since 2004, she has been apprenticing for Mo for the various age groups. She also helped out at the Mo Holland Dance Studio Summer Camps from 2005 to 2009.
To further her dance education, she has taken ballroom dance classes, beginning, intermediate, and advanced ballroom through the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In summer 2015, she took modern dance classes at the Fairbanks Summer Art Festival in July. The class was taught by Dante Puleio of the Limon Dance Company in New York.

Kim Blood is one of the assistant teachers at Mo Holland Dance Studio.
Kim Blood was born and raised in Fairbanks. She started dancing at the age of 12 with Malloy and Company and quickly discovered a passion for dancing. Kim trained in jazz, tap, and ballet and was one of the original dancers who joined Mo at her new studio, Mo Holland Dance Studio. Kim pursued her dream of becoming a dancer and attended Oklahoma City University where she trained in jazz, tap, ballet and musical theater under the direction of Jo Rowan. Kim obtained her degree in Dance Management and moved to Denver, Colorado.
Kim went back to school and became a registered dietitian before returning to Alaska. She began dancing again with Mo in 2014 and teaching ballet in 2015. Kim continues to love dancing and enjoys sharing her passion with others.

About Alvin Espejo
Alvin F. Espejo is one of the co-teachers at Mo Holland Dance Studio for the hip hop program. He was born and raised in Philippines and moved to Alaska in 2007.
He started performing when he was in the sixth grade, and has loved and continued to perform since then. Alvin started to dance hip hop in 2009, when his brother Albert Espejo and him started free styling hip hop.
In 2007, he joined a Filipino cultural dance group named, “Ating Lahi” which performed at various venues in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a part of the dance group for approximately 5 years. In 2010, one of his mentors and close friend, Jayo Batangan, invited him and his younger brother, Albert Espejo to be teaching assistants at Mo Holland Dance Studio. Alvin was an assistant teacher for 2 years alongside his brother and became one of the co-teachers for the hip hop program when Jayo moved to California. Since then, he has been teaching at Mo Holland Dance Studio.
Alvin always aims to improve his dancing and he believes that a humble dancer is a good dancer.
He has had several mentors throughout his life, including Jayo Batangan, Danny Motas, and his brother Albert.
Some of his dance inspirations include Jaja Vankova, Noppo, Hilty & Bosch, Brian Puspos, as well as Keone and Mari Madrid. His style of hip hop is focused on animation, and popping. He knows various styles of hip hop dance styles, not limited to:
- Krump
- Locking
- Robotics
- Ticking
- Tutting
- Urban
- Warping
- Waving

There are many styles and techniques that he is familiar with, such as break-dancing, but they’ are not a major focus in his dance style.
Him and his brother earned second place at the All-Styles Freestyle Battle at the Midnight Sun Festival Break-fest in 2013. They were second only to competitors from Anchorage which leaves them holding the current first-place record in Fairbanks.
About Albert Espejo
Albert Espejo is one of the co-teachers at Mo Holland Dance Studio for the hip hop program. He was born and raised in Philippines and moved to Alaska in 2008.
He started dancing when he was in the third grade, and started taking dance seriously when he was in his senior year of high school. He started teaching hip hop dance routines at the age of 16, at his local high school in Philippines for their various dance programs.
In 2008, he joined a Filipino cultural dance group named, “Ating Lahi” which performed at various venues in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was a part of the dance group for approximately 3 years. In 2010, one of his mentors and close friend, Jayo Batangan, invited him and his older brother, Alvin Espejo to be teaching assistants at Mo Holland Dance Studio. Albert was an assistant teacher for 2 years alongside his brother and became one of the co-teachers for the hip hop program when Jayo moved to California. Since then, he has been teaching at Mo Holland Dance Studio.
